All the parents I know who have kids with nut allergies tell me marshmallows and colored sugar are pretty much always off limits because of the risk of cross contamination. Can anyone share suggestions as to which brands might be safe?
These are gorgeous, Gina!♥
Thank you Lori. I loved your idea and had to try it for myself!
Hi Beth,
Great question! My daughter has nut allergies as well as a host of others. We used CakeMate colored sugar here and JetPuffed Marshmallows. We have never had any problems with these. However, each child’s set of allergies is unique and a parent must decide what is best for his/her child. It is always best to call the manufacturer for specific information regarding cross-contamination.
Thanks,
Gina
