I wanted to share a recipe for dairy and egg-free Irish soda bread. I made it last night with the kids and they are eating it for breakfast! Happy St. Patrick’s Day…Irish or not it is a good bread recipe.

Boil together 1 cup sugar, 2 cups water, 1/3 cup crisco, 1 cup raisins, and 1 tsp. vanilla. When cool, add 2 cups flour, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp. baking soda, and a pinch of salt. Bake at 350 for about 35-40 minutes.
